We have a big winter storm coming in tomorrow so we both wanted to get out of the house today. I picked up meds for my dog, then, since we had nothing else to do, thought we’d go for a drive. Then I remembered estate sales. Love those. Mom’s a good sport about it. She stays in the car and I go in the houses to look around because I love looking at houses. I want to go in them all. People frown on strangers showing up asking to be let in out of the blue so estate sales are the perfect alternative.
As we were driving along mom says, “We got through January, through February, and most of March without snow, so I’d say we’re doing good.”
I had to pause a beat. Did she just say what I think she said?
“It’s January.”
“Oh, right. I got confused.”
No kidding.
To be fair, the weather has been far more like March than January, so it’d be an easy mistake to make, especially if your brain goes on the fritz on occasion.
Not doing great on the plant-based diet thing. I picked up a pepperoni pizza one day for lunch because I got almost no sleep the night before and was too tired to make lunch. Tonight we went out for Chinese food and she had chicken. She’s not eating much these days but I think it’s normal for your appetite to come and go to some degree.
